Bharat Jyoti was established in 1986 with a vision and a mission to create awareness of consumers' Rights and duties among the masses. It was a first N.G.O. to established a Consumer Protection Cell in UP in 1989.
Bharat Jyoti has came to the succour of a large number of aggrieved consumers by guiding and consulting them in the District Consumer Forum.
Aims and Objects
To uphold protect and develop and the cultural heritage of India.
To promote creativity of ideas and bring together scientists, technologies, sociologists economists and intellectuals on a single platform for the development of a modern prosperous, democratic India.
To create conditions for greater vocational awareness, employment and self employment among youth.
To promote and encourage the participation of citizens in social, political, economical main stream with a national and secular outlook.
To assist and cooperate with Government as well as voluntary bodies engaged in the Human Development Programmer and schemes of social welfare.
To establish education institutions, hospitals, adult literacy centers, vocational guidance centers for the welfare of people.
To motivate poors for gainful activities and help them for better living standard for occupying dignified place in the society.
To assist in implementation of various rural development programmes of State and Central Government.
Credits and Awards
Having noticeably observed the meritorious services rendered in the field of Consumer Protection, Department of Food and civil Supplies, Government of U.P has awarded SECOND PRIZE in 1996.
Not satisfied with the services rendered to the consumers, it ventured into more areas of involvement and attracted more people into its services, The Department of Food and civil Supplies awarded FIRST Prize.
Besides the state government, the government of India too recognized its selfless assistenace given to various categories of people, it was compelled to award THIRD Prize in 1997.
A helpline came into existence to receive, register and counsel to all queries/references from consumers specially those under the preview of Consumer protection Act 1986. It gives online interim reply to the consumers and allot to them registration number for further reference. The helpline sends forth the queries to the concerned authorities/departments for providing requested reply/information.
Bharat Jyoti got deeply involved in motivational educational programms, upliftment of poor and downtrodden, particularly women and children, distribution of clothes to the needy, medicines, food, etc
Contributions by generous and humanitarian personalities of the organization brought resource for weddings of destitute girls. With a motive of educating the uneducated children of the society, Bharat Jyoti distributed scholarships to the helpless children, physically and mentally challenged siblings which has motivated them to pursue the studies and not to drop out of school.
